| SCOPE OF POSITION: Lead or participate on several concurrent development projects for expanding the company's electrical business. Primary function is engineering, but project teams take product projects from concept to launch, so this is a broader role than most engineering departments.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: Propose, design, develop & evaluate products
Prepare project plans, determine timelines & resources
Work with sales & product mgmnt groups to harvest product ideas from customers
Prepare material & product specifications (quality testing procedures if applicable)
Verify designs, check drawings, check quotes, and assist in justifications
MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct: Will guide the work of designers & drafters.
Indirect: (consultants, agents, distributors, contractors, etc.)Will lead team activities involving sales, product mgmnt, marketing and other development groups.
Other: Will participate on industry committees & panels.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 3 - 5 years of engineering experience in electrical connectors and / or plastic enclosures
Education 4 year engineering degree required
Skills (e.g. project management, computer, management)
1 Computer skills - MS Word, Excel and Autocad Solidworks proficiency
2 Must possess competent analytical skills as eveidenced by: submission of past technical reports generated during project-related work & design analysis generated as a result of project work
3 Must be capable of interacting with customers, vendors and other departments in an effective and team oriented way
4 Must possess product design/development experience as evidenced by examples of completed designs
5 Must possess ability to write competent and comprehensive project reports, customer communications, work instructions, operating manuals, and presentations
6 Must have experience preparing project plans, timelines and resource requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in electrical/mechanical fastener/hanger design and /or plastic molding design desired. Team orientation essential.
TRAVEL REQUIRED: 10-15% travel as necessary
